Install Voxt on Mac

Steps

1. 1.Download the latest release

   Get the Stable DMG from the Voxt download button on the homepage (or the Latest release link in the footer), open the installer, and drag Voxt into Applications.

2. 2.Launch Voxt from Applications

   Open Voxt once from Applications or Spotlight. It lives in the menu bar so you can hold a shortcut and talk from Slack, Notes, email, browsers, or your editor.

3. 3.Connect a model channel

   Start with a local ASR channel for privacy (or System Dictation if you want zero model download). Optionally add a local LLM for cleanup/rewrite, or bring your own API keys for remote ASR/LLM. No Voxt cloud subscription is required.

4. 4.Grant permissions, then test

   Allow Microphone and Accessibility when prompted. Click into a text field, hold fn, speak, and release. Voxt should show a live preview, clean the text, and paste at the cursor.

Tips

• Apple Silicon Macs give the best local-model experience; Intel Macs still work with lighter channels.
• If text never inserts, check Accessibility first—see the permissions guide.
• Keep ASR and LLM as separate channels so you can optimize capture latency and rewrite quality independently.
• Website sign-in is optional and is mainly for feedback—not required to dictate on your Mac.
