Voxt shortcuts and workflows

Use one tap-to-talk habit for transcription, translation, and rewrite—then let App Branch restyle the same speech per app.

Steps

1.Transcribe with fn
Tap fn, speak, and tap fn again. Voxt shows a live preview, finishes punctuation, removes filler, applies App Branch and dictionary rules, then pastes into the focused field.
2.Translate with fn + shift
Tap fn + shift and speak to paste a translation, or select text first and tap fn + shift to translate the selection in a result card. Translation can use its own model and terminology settings.
3.Rewrite with fn + control
Tap fn + control and say what you want—“make it shorter,” “more formal,” or draft something new. Voxt treats your speech as the instruction for selected text or generation, and the answer opens in a result card.
4.Let App Branch adapt the output
Configure App Branch rules by app or URL so the same sentence can be shorter in chat, fuller in email, and keep more technical symbols in an editor—without changing your shortcut habit.

You can remap shortcuts in the app if fn conflicts with your keyboard layout or other tools.
Prefer to hold the key while you speak? Switch a shortcut to long press (or double tap) in the app's hotkey settings.
Personal dictionary entries help stabilize names, product terms, and bilingual jargon across all workflows.
If you only need raw capture, keep enhancement light; turn up cleanup when you want finished prose.
